Your facial will do the work to leave you feeling and looking your best. In order to get the most out of it however, you need to do your part to make sure your results can shine through.

Here are some of the activities that you should avoid after your facial that will be important to consider before going in for your appointment.

In the First 24 Hours After Your Procedure

Once you have had your facial, avoid wearing heavy makeup and facial products for 24 hours. Even if the skin is red after the treatment.

Since your facial will work to open your pores you do not want to risk adding any bacteria that could cause a break out.

You can return to wearing makeup and using facial products as usual after the first 24 hours post procedure. Be sure to also avoid any activity that could cause you to sweat such as going to the gym as it can be irritating to your fresh facial skin.

A Few Days After Your Procedure

You will want to avoid exfoliating for a few days after your procedure as your skin will have been exfoliated thoroughly during your facial. Further exfoliation could result in irritation or damage to the skin.

It is also best to avoid using other harsh products such as at-home peels, salicylic acid-based cleansers, and retinols. If you were planning on going on vacation or attending a pool day in the sun, it’s usually best to put these off. If you must attend events in the sun be sure to wear sunscreen and a hat that covers your face.

Within the First Week of Your Procedure

Avoid waxing or laser hair removal within the first week of your procedure. These treatments exfoliate the skin which can cause lifting and when overdone.

Protect your skin as best as you can in order to get the most out of your facial, and get the results you’re looking for!
